Meet Dewey Compton

I was born and reared in South Boston. I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in education, and I received my Masters in Education from Longwood University.

For 33 years I taught school in the Halifax County Public School System, and I served as the athletic director of HCMS for 15 years. I have been selling real estate for 19 years and in 2007 I was MULTIMILLION DOLLAR PRODUCER. In 2008, I received my associates broker's license and am presently working with The Davis Company Realtors.

I have been married for 33 years to my high school sweet-heart, Valerie Murray Compton, and she presently teachers 6th grade at HCMS. We have 3 wonderful children- Chad, Anne-Ashley and Krissy. My son graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in turf grass management. He and his wife, Kathryn, reside in Williamsburg, Va., where he is assistant superintendent of the River Course in Kingsmill. Anne-Ashley also graduated from NCSU with a B.S. in biochemistry, and she plans to further her education in the medical field. Krissy is a 8th grade student at HCMS.
